WHAT MATERIALS ARE ACCEPTABLE FOR RECLAMATION?

Currently P. Park NJ is accepting clean fill and has a protocol for receiving these materials which are listed on the Material Handling Plan.

WHAT MATERIALS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE FOR RECEIVING?

Any regulated waste streams, non-recyclable construction debris, wood, paper, rubber, municipal waste, highly organic material, soil with nuisance odors, and soil with excess moisture are NOT accepted.

WHAT IS THE TYPICAL TURNAROUND TIME FOR PROJECT APPROVAL?

Typically 3 to 5 business days if a proper application is submitted, but see below for some common items that can delay your application.

WHAT ARE COMMON ISSUES THAT CAN DELAY MY APPLICATION FOR PROJECT APPROVAL?

• Not having a complete set of analytical data for the intended volume of soil (Please see the Material Handling Plan for a list of analytical parameters necessary).

• Not having an Excel table summarizing the lab data (with comparison to 2008 NJRDCSRS limits).

• Not having an accurate sampling plan showing where the samples were collected with respect to the volume of soil contemplated for reclamation. Click for an example of an In-Situ Sampling Plan or an Ex-Situ Sampling Plan.

• If the site is in one of the NYC Office of Environmental Remediation’s programs, and the application did not include the NYC OER Soil Disposal Notification Form and associated documentation (Disclosure Form, summary of site work, Remedial Investigation Report (RIR), Remedial Action Work Plan (RAWP), associated figures with sampling locations, summary tables, boring logs, etc.)

WHAT ARE THE SAMPLING PROTOCOLS AND HOW DOES THE SAMPLE DATE AFFECT MY APPLICATION?

The sampling protocols for P Park are included in the Material Acceptance Form. Samples typically older than one year will require a newer sample unless we can receive an official piece of correspondence indicating that the site conditions have not changed since the sample was collected.

MY PROJECT IS IN NEW YORK, WHAT ARE TYPICAL ISSUES TO HELP EXPEDITE MY APPLICATION PROCESS?

NY and NJ have different analytical parameters to establish that the material is not contaminated. Most NY facilities analyze the sample for the NYSDEC Part 375 lists. This list of analytical parameters does not include all of the parameters that are included on the NJDEP Residential Direct Contact Soil Remediation Standards (RDCSRS). To save time, ask your lab to provide all parameters that are listed on NJDEP RDCSRS list.

DOES P PARK ACCEPT ROCK?

Please contact P Park for this request (to discuss size and type). If Rock is accepted, an application is necessary and if any soil is mixed in the load, it will require testing.

WHAT IS THE PPE POLICY FOR DRIVERS AND VISITORS?

All truck drivers and visitors to P Park's facility are required to wear a hard hat, high-visibility vest, safety glasses, and durable work boots.
