GLOSSARY



GENERATOR (Section 1) -  The owner of the material proposed to come to P Park.

CLIENT (Section 2) -  The company assisting in moving the material from the Generator's project site.

TRANSPORTER (Section 2, Item 21) -  The transportation company that is hauling the material from the Generator's project site. (May be the same as the Client)

ESTIMATED QUANTITY (Section 3, Item 22) -  The amount of material proposed to come to P Park in cubic yards or tons.

CLEAN TESTED FILL (Section 3, Item 23) -  Uncontaminated soil that has been sampled and tested by a professional, and the analytical results are below the NJDEP Residential Direct Contact Soil Remediation Standards.

URBAN FILL (Section 3, Item 23) -  Soil with less than 30% brick, block, or concrete.

TOP SOIL (Section 3, Item 23) -  Surface soil usually including the organic layer in which plants have most of their roots.

WASTE (Section 3, Item B1) -  Unusable remains or byproducts (garbage). (ex: wood, tile, wallboard, ash, plastics, etc.)

SEPTIC SYSTEM LOCATION (Section 3, Item B2) -  Location containing waste water and waste matter.

STORAGE TANK (Section 3, Item B3) -  Containers holding liquids, compressed gases, or mediums used for short or long term storage of products.

TANK FARM (Section 3, Item B3) -  An area of petroleum or chemical storage tanks.

HISTORIC FILL (Section 3, Item B4) -  Fill that could have been contaminated prior to placement or includes construction debris, dredge spoils, incinerator residue, demolition debris, fly ash, or non-hazardous solid waste.

REGULATORY PROGRAM (Section 3, Item B5) -  A program that ensures the provisions set forth during rezoning actions are implemented to avoid significant adverse impacts to human health or the environment through exposure to potential hazardous materials, unwanted sound on sensitive noise receptors, and mobile or stationary pollutants in ambient air quality. (ex: NYC Office of Environmental Remediation, NYSDEC, NYCDEP, NJDEP, etc.)

IN-SITU (Section 3, Item 25) -  Material sampled that has not been moved from its original place of deposition. (ex: below the ground)

EX-SITU (Section 3, Item 25) -  Material sampled that has been moved from its original place of deposition. (ex: a stockpile)

ANALYTICAL DATA (Section 3, Item 26) -  The testing results supplied from an independent laboratory on the material proposed to come to P Park.

SUMMARY TABLE (Section 3, Item 26) -  An Excel spreadsheet, typically prepared by the laboratory that lists all analytical parameters and compares them to the NJDEP Residential Direct Contact Soil Remediation Standards.

OWNER (Section 6) -  The owner of the facility where the material was generated.
